What PPR is
PPR (polypropylene random copolymer) is a plastic pipe joined by heat fusion, so the joints become part of the pipe itself. This reduces leak points compared with threaded joints.
Where it is used
- Hot and cold water supply lines inside walls
- Kitchen and bathroom supply connections
- Areas where fewer joints mean fewer leaks
- Systems where consistent water pressure matters
Things to consider
- PPR needs heat-fusion tools and trained hands to join
- Choose the correct pressure rating for your line
- Keep the matching fittings and elbows from the same system
- Protect exposed pipe from direct sun and impact
Practical checklist
- Confirm the line is for water supply, not drainage
- Pick the right diameter for the flow you need
- Use matching fittings from the same system
- Ensure joints are fused by someone trained
- Protect exposed sections after installation
